About

A little good news, twice a day.

Reading the news lately can leave you with a pit in your stomach. So much of it is alarming, and it's easy to forget that good things are happening too: problems being solved, discoveries being made, people being kind to each other.

This is a small reminder of that. Each morning and evening, a short edition of real stories, reported by journalists around the world, about things going right. Read what catches your eye, and carry on with your day a little lighter.

Why a mandarin?

Harry eats at least two a day, and each one feels like a small hit of joy; that's all this site hopes to be too.

The mandarin is from Google's Noto Emoji, used under the Apache License 2.0.
